On the morning of November 19, 2018, in Hanoi, the Digital Transformation Conference – Opportunities and Challenges was organized by the Digital Media Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Chairman of Digital Media Association Nguyen Minh Hong attended and delivered the opening speech.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Chairman of Digital Media Association Nguyen Minh Hong said: With the Industrial Revolution 4.0, all sectors and fields must be changed, must be carried out. Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong expressed his wish that, at this conference, state management agencies, enterprises and organizations, experts will together see more clearly the opportunities and challenges of the transfer. change numbers, thereby finding ways to adapt to the fourth industrial revolution that is taking place very strongly in the world.
At the workshop, representatives of Department of Computerization – Ministry of Information and Communications had a presentation on “Overview of Vietnam’s digital transformation process”. The Department of Computerization is being assigned by the Minister of Information and Communications to develop a draft “National Number Transformation Project” and is expected to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval in 2019.
According to the representative of the Department of Computerization, there are many definitions of digital transformation in the world. According to Gartner, digital transformation is the use of digital technologies to change the business model and create new revenue and value opportunities. According to Microsoft, digital transformation is the rethinking of how to organize, gather people, data and processes together to create new values for customers and maintain competition in the digital world.
The digital transformation will affect people, businesses and governments. For people, digital conversion will change the way people live, work and trade. For businesses, data and digital technology will change the business model, change the process of providing products and services; change products and services. For the Government, digital transformation will change the user’s experience of the state services provided; change business processes of state agencies.
Also at the seminar, representatives from Siemens Vietnam, Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, and VNPT IT Company had presentations with the topic “Converting success numbers for the business sector; Global experience and lessons for Vietnamese enterprises ”,“ Digital transformation process for egov and smartcity of Hanoi City ”,“ VNPT 4.0 technology and some applications in digital change for businesses in Vietnam Male”.
The last part of the workshop is a seminar entitled “Digital Transformation – Opportunities and Challenges of Vietnam” with the participation of representatives of state agencies and enterprises.
